Professor and Research Professor, Department of Political Science,
University of Michigan.
is a member of MOSES, the Metropolitan Organizing Strategy Enabling
Strength .  
MOSES is an affiliate of the Gamaliel Foundation, a nonprofit
organization based in Chicago.  A core team of graduate and
undergraduate students, faculty and staff from across the University
provides leadership on campus for MOSES-related activities, which
include research,
internships, training in community organizing and leadership, and
participation in MOSES activities in southeast Michigan.  
U-M won the Gamaliel Foundation's National Core Team of the Year
award in 2004.

REV. Dr. KEVIN M. TURMAN, Treasure

Dr.Kevin M Turman, is a native of Akron, Ohio and the 23rd. pastor of
Second Baptist of Detroit. He has served as a Baptist pastor for more
than 20 years, joining the Second Baptist Church of Detroit in 1988.

He is the recipient of a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from
Harvard College in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He has a Master of
Divinity degree from Yale University Divinity Schoo, New Haven,
Connecticut and a Doctor of Ministry degree as a Samuel D. Proctor
Fellow from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio.

He is married to the former Denise Thomas and they are proud parents
of two sons, Theodore and Benjamin.

Dr. Turman's involvement in civic, professional and community
actiiviities include:
- Executive Board Member, Home Mission Board, PNBC
- Past President, Michigan Progressive Baptist Convention
- Member, Board of Directors, Detroit Urban League and Michigan
Coalition for   Human Rights.
- President, of M.O.S.E.S. an ecumenical social justice organization in
Detroit.

Background includes Community, Union, and Tenant organizing;            
  with Gamaliel since 1989.
Plus: political consulting in Canada (New Democratic Party)
and U.S. (various).

RACHAEL A. TANNER

Graduated from Loy Norrix and completed a Bachelor degree in
Political Science at the University of Michigan.
She develop a commitment to work for liberation and oppression in
this world. She was challenged to go back to her roots and make
changes in their communities.
Started to work and be trained at The Harriet Tubman Center on
June 2007, organizing at Gesu Catholic Church in Detroit, working
also in many different actions, door to door campaign in
neighborhoods, create a summer recreation program for youth. She
has a 3 month fellowship training with JONAH and now in Kalamazoo
she is working with ISAAC.
Playing a very important rol with Harriet Tubman Center since day
one and a great collaborator to challenge all of us at the Center,
part of  the selection committee looking for new interns for  
H.Tubman.
VICTORIA KOVARI

Victoria Kovari is the Field Director for Catholics in Alliance for the
Common Good. For the last 27 years, Kovari has worked as a
community organizer, political consultant and non profit housing
developer. Prior to her joining the alliance, she worked as an organizer
with MOSES, an affiliate of the Gamaliel Foundation, directing
campaigns in Michigan for regional mass transit and health care . She
also worked with Gamaliel affiliates in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Upstate
New York. In October 2002 ,she was one of 20 U.S. community leaders
awarded the Ford Foundation's national Leadership for a Changing
World Award. She has served on the faculty of the Schools of Social
Work at both the University of Michigan and Wayne State University
