OUR MISSION

The Harriet Tubman Center was founded in 2006 to fill a void in
the recruitment and development of professional community
organizers.

Through organized action a group of leaders can collectively
improve the quality of life in their community.
Working in faith communities, neighborhoods, college
campuses and workplaces, intern organizers of the Tubman
Center will work with professional organizers and leaders to
tackle tough issues in our communities.

WHAT WE DO

Tubman Center offers internships to men and women who have
a desire and capacity to work in diverse communities as
prepared and competent organizers.   Tubman Center assures
solidarity and a range of organizing experiences for its interns.
" times were very critical and therefore no foolishness
would be indulged in on the road"
